Terms of Service

Last updated October 25, 2026

These terms are written in plain language on purpose. By using this website or the TwentyGrams app, you agree to them. “We” means Martin Eisath, the solo developer who runs TwentyGrams (not a registered company). If you do not agree, please do not use the app or the website.

Not a medical device

TwentyGrams is a food-logging tool. It is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat or prevent any medical condition, does not interpret blood-sugar readings, and does not give medical advice. It is not a substitute for advice from a doctor, dietitian, or other qualified professional — always check with them before making decisions about your health.

Food data

Nutrition numbers come from the USDA FoodData Central database and Open Food Facts. We work hard to keep this data accurate, but no database is perfect — always use your own judgment, especially for medically significant decisions. Some values are calculated or corrected by TwentyGrams; see Licenses.

Free logging

The core logging loop (typed natural-language logging, search, your history) is free, with no time limit, and we do not plan to move it behind the paywall. Some features, such as label scans, have a monthly free allowance. Premium is an optional subscription that adds features beyond the free loop. What Premium includes is shown on the Premium screen in the app and on our pricing page at the time you subscribe; features may be added or changed over time.

Premium subscription

Premium is sold as an auto-renewing subscription through the Apple App Store or Google Play. The title, length and price of each plan are shown in the app before you confirm, in your local currency, and you are charged by Apple or Google, not by us. To buy Premium you must be signed in to your TwentyGrams account, because a purchase is attached to your account. Each subscription is attached to the one TwentyGrams account you were signed in to when you bought it. Signing in to a different TwentyGrams account, even on the same phone or store account, does not move Premium to it. Payment is charged to your store account when you confirm the purchase. Your subscription renews automatically for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends, and your store account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends. Renewal timing, receipts and billing are handled by the store.

To cancel, open your subscriptions in your Apple ID settings or in Google Play and cancel there. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription, and deleting your TwentyGrams account does not cancel one either; cancel in the store. After you cancel you keep Premium until the end of the period you already paid for. You can use Restore purchases in the app to restore a purchase on a new device. To restore a purchase you must sign in to your TwentyGrams account, because a restored purchase is attached to your account.

If the price of your subscription changes, the store tells you and, where its rules require it, asks for your consent before the new price applies.

If a renewal payment fails, the store decides how long you keep access. When Premium ends, Premium features stop working. Community recipes you saved in the app stay in your saved list on your phone, and you can still remove them, but you cannot save new ones unless you subscribe again.

Daily limits on Premium AI features

Premium includes up to 30 label scans and up to 10 recipe questions per account per day. A day is a UTC day, and the count starts again at midnight UTC. These limits are separate from the free monthly label-scan allowance, and they do not apply to logging: typed natural-language logging, search and your history are not limited by them. We may change these limits for reasons such as cost or abuse prevention.

Refunds

Purchases are processed by Apple or Google. Refunds for store purchases are decided by Apple or Google under their own policies, and we cannot issue a refund for a store purchase or see your payment details. To ask for one, use Apple’s Report a Problem page or your Google Play order history. Nothing here limits any rights you have under the law where you live, including any right to cancel a digital purchase within a set period.

Public reviews and other content you post

You can write public reviews of recipes and of the app. Anyone can see a review, along with your display name and, if you set them, your profile photo and short bio.

You keep ownership of what you write. By posting, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, reproduce and distribute it on the website and in the app, and to keep an internal record of it as described in our Privacy Policy. You confirm that you wrote it and that it does not infringe anyone else’s rights.

Keep reviews to your own experience with the recipe or the app. Do not post anything unlawful, harassing, hateful, or deceptive; spam or advertising; someone else’s private information; content you do not have the right to post; or a review you were paid or otherwise rewarded to write without saying so. Reviews are not medical advice, and we may remove reviews that make medical claims.

We may remove or hide any review that breaks these rules or that we reasonably believe is unlawful, at our discretion and without notice. You can withdraw your own review at any time, and deleting your account takes your reviews down from public view, as described in the Privacy Policy.

To report a review, use the report option on it or email us at the address below. We look at reports but do not promise a response time or a particular outcome. If you believe content infringes your copyright, email us with the content’s address, what you own, and your contact details.

Acceptable use

Do not:

Your account and ending it

An account is optional for the free app: you can use it without one. Premium is the exception: buying or restoring Premium needs a TwentyGrams account, as described under Premium subscription above. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in secure and for activity under your account. You can delete your account in the app (Settings, then Account, then Delete account); what that removes is described in our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or end an account, or block access, if you break these terms, abuse the service (for example automated or excessive requests, or attempts to get around limits), or use it unlawfully. If we end your account, the free logging already on your phone stays on your phone. Ending an account does not cancel a store subscription; cancel in the store.

Parts of these terms that by their nature continue after your account ends still apply after it ends, including the licence for content you already shared, the disclaimers and the limits of liability.

No warranty and limit of liability

TwentyGrams, the website and the food data are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the extent the law allows. We do not promise that they will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any nutrition value is accurate for your purpose (see Food data above).

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits or savings, arising from your use of TwentyGrams. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for Premium in the twelve months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, so they apply only to the extent allowed. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Apple and Google

These terms are between you and us, not Apple or Google.

If you get the iOS app from the Apple App Store, Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to your use of the app. That agreement has its own terms, including on liability and on which law applies to it.

The waitlist

Joining the waitlist only signs you up for launch and confirmation emails from Kit (ConvertKit), our email provider. You can unsubscribe at any time. See ourPrivacy Policy for details on how that data is handled.

Changes

We may update these terms as TwentyGrams grows. The “last updated” date above shows when they last changed. If a change affects Premium billing, the new terms will be posted on this page, with the updated date above, before they apply. Changes to the price of your subscription are handled by the store, as described under Premium subscription. Continuing to use TwentyGrams after a change means you accept it.
